The Government have taken the decision not to extend theory test certificates as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Following a recent petition and after careful consideration the Government have stated that new drivers need to have the most up to-date road safety knowledge and hazard perception skills at the critical point when they drive on their own for the first time.
Therefore, anyone who has a theory test certificate that is due to expire before a planned test will be given a refund of the driving test fee and required to retake and pass the theory test before being able to book another practical test.
