Hi all, we have had another busy year in 2023 with an average of 1 test pass per week throughout the year. Our waiting list has drastically reduced from around 250 to 40 which reflects the current situation for lesson and test availability in Rotherham.
We are working hard to expand the team with 3 new Potential Driving Instructors ( PDI) beginning their journeys to become an ( ADI) Approved Driving Instructors with us at RIMS. This process will take a while so not a quick fix to address the waiting times. It is important to me as the director of RIMS to choose potential colleagues that fit with us and our work ethic.
Just to update you on the potential for strike action by the examiners, we have been informed that industrial action will take place on 8,9,10 and 11th of February 2024. Not all examiners will opt to strike so we are being advised to attend the test as usual unless we receive notification from the DVSA in advance. If your test does not go ahead as a result the DVSA will offer you another date as soon as possible after the cancellation.
So, let's hope the plans that we are working on to grow our team all come to fruition and we will be better placed to further meet the training needs of our local community here in Rotherham.
