Hi All,
The DVSA have announced, as part of the programme to boost road safety and following a 5 month successful trial at 20 Driving Test Centres around the country, they will now roll-out the changes, where possible, starting November 24th 2025.
The trial was aimed at increasing the amount of time learners drivers spend on higher speed roads such as rural road whilst on their driving test due to the national statistics surrounding the demographic of those killed or seriously injured on Britain’s roads.
The changes to the test routes, where possible, are to test new drivers in situations that they are likely to face when they drive independently.
Living in Rotherham and the surrounding districts, we are fortunate to have a really good mix of fast moving dual carriageways and plenty of rural challenging roads compared to those people living in big Cities like London and we support the changes.
Mick Kingham,
Director of RIMS Motoring School Ltd.
