Hi everyone, just an update regarding Covid restriction changes and trial changes to the reverse bay parking manoeuvre in the driving test.
With the announcement that the wearing of face coverings being lifted in many settings gives us at RIMS some cause for concern. Having consulted with my team, we feel that this change is too soon given the Covid rates, hospitalisations and deaths in the Rotherham borough so we have decided that we will continue with the hygiene measures that we currently have in place; Wearing face coverings ( unless exempt), sanitising on entry to our cars and the lowering of windows in order to ventilate the car during lessons. We intend to review these measures at the end of February 2022 and thank you in advance for your continued support.
It has been announced that there is a trial to take place for around 6 weeks starting on 1st February 2022 at 15 Driving Test Centres dotted around the country. The trials are in respect of carrying out the reverse bay park manoeuvre in random car parks whereas, at present, this manoeuvre is currently only done at the test centre.
