Let's Make Sure You Pass First Time!

You have probably been thinking about learning to drive for some time and we promise you that soon you will have your driving licence and be able to do all those amazing things you have been dreaming about!

This is how we are going to help you pass your driving test…

The prize is your driving licence but everyone wants to pass first time, so throughout your driver training program with RIMS Driving School we are going to ask you to consider three things.

To be Safe and to be aware of your surroundings.
To be in control of the car.
To understand the rules of the road.

On the day of your driving test, it is not just a test of your skill but you need to

show you are well prepared in all 3 areas.

Your First Lesson

You might live on a country lane where there are more planes in the sky than cars on the road. We will take you somewhere else that is a safe quiet area to start your first driving lesson, away from your friends and family who are wishing you good luck and staring at you through the window. This will help you to relax and focus on the task in hand without the added pressure that sometimes exists with family and friends watching.

You will be introduced to the method for setting up the car so that you are able to see where you are going and comfortably reach all of the controls. This is known as the cockpit drill.

End Of The Lesson

You will want to know how well you have done? Well with rims driver training you will reflect on your performance with your instructor using a reflective learning journal. You will ask yourself a series of simple questions about the lesson and the answers will show how much you have learned during the session, what you feel needs to be done to improve on this performance and set the aim for the next session.

On completion of the journal it will be emailed to you so that you have an account of what subject/s that you have worked on and this is yours to share with family and friends if you wish but more importantly, to to refresh your memory prior to your next lesson. You will be able to monitor your progress and see how your skills are improving as you get closer and closer to reaching the Standard and passing the test.
